Movie Cover

At school I've been studying Shakespeare in English and our most recent assessment item was an extended play on a character from Hamlet. So i thought I'd whip out my graphic design skills and blow everyone away with a beautiful hand made title page/cover. (To make up for my dodgy acting ofcorse) I'm still in the film/editing process so you will have to wait and see... But here is my cover :)

I had to learn a few new photoshop skills for this one. I used a bunch of watercolour brushes, and a mixture of text, photography and my own flower illustrations (which I scanned and uploaded then blended with photoshop) Hope you enjoy!

Current Design Love: Watercolour

How freaking gorgeous is this?! I love everything, the simple font, design.. and the contrast of colourful watercolour is just perfect!!

This gorgeous design element can add a fun pop of colour or create an elegant texture and offers a flowing contrast to strong, simple or bold typography. To incorporate watercolour into computer graphics all you need is some watercolour paints to make up some designs then use a scanner to upload them to your computer and finally add your typography, its really is so simple.

Hope you got some inspiration from today's post!

TAFE Update and My Artwork

I'm now in my second year of TAFE and I cant believe how quick the time has gone!! I promised earlier last year in this post that I would share some of my work so here is a few photos of a Dust Jacket that I'm currently working on. The brief was to combine photography and conceptual ideas to capture the letters A R and T and finish the title of Art is...something?(with relation to the photos) Then create a Duck Jacket using Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Here are the results...

I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to do this course. I'm creating a bunch of designs for my portfolio and I have learnt so much (and it's been super fun). Hope you have enjoyed taking a look at some of my work,

DIY: Hi Res Desktop Collages

I've lately been obsessed with personalising pretty much everything and creating cute backgrounds for my computer and phone. My style is constantly changing and I'm always being inspired from my favourite site Pinterest! You can keep up to date with what I've been pinning here
Here's a recent collage I have made and am using for a desktop background...

To make one for yourself here is a quick little DIY...
First find a heap of inspiring, cute, pretty or dreamy images that you just love. you can find them through tumblr, we heart it, pinterest or where-ever you prefer. Save them all into a folder on your computer.
Next just go to Pic Monkey and choose collage...

Then choose one of the square layouts, you can resize and delete the individual boxes but you cant add them so I tend to pic the 25 square one...

Simply auto fill all of your photos into the box or you can individually choose the order.

You can also adjust the dimensions to fit your computer's screen (or phone screen). Bellow are the dimensions I used for a Macbook Pro 13-Inch.

Resize and play around with the layout, get creative and then save your masterpiece.

I really love this website as it is so quick and simple and most of all easy to use! Hope you all enjoy and remember to follow me on Pinterest :) Have a lovely day!

Silver Chevron Nails

Materials:
- scissors
- two colours of nail polish
- sticky tape

Firstly, I painted my first colour. This can be any colour you like but I choose just a shiny clear coat.

Next I cut my tape like the above photo, it's pretty straight forward :)

Once my first coat had dried I carefully placed the two tape pieces in the place I wanted them on my nails.

Then, painted on my silver :)

Remove the tape and your done!!
Enjoy...

Current obsession; making a gif...

I recently found a website that allows you to upload your photos and it makes them into a gif. It's called Picasion. This is my latest one, I used pretty images I've found on the inter-web, to sort of make a collage of me :)

Oh... and I used Picnik to make my photos rounded :)
The website I used to find these inspiring images is called We Heart It. It's my favourite site and you can follow me on it here.

Word Love

My little sister and I were playing around with our scrabble letters after being inspired by those lovely images from my post a few days ago. We decide to make lots of happy words and use up every letter we had, take a look...

I know... some words weren't spelt entirely correct, we did our best.

Lovely layers...

These are some of my favourite layered artworks that I am inspired by...

1, 2

Geometric Nails!!

I was inspired by the nail art on eva foreva. I thought it would be pretty simple, although I new mine wouldn't turn out as nice as these. I loved the colour scheme of blue and black

These were mine...

What you need...
2 different colours of nail polish
Scissors
Tape

Cut 5, 11/2 inch pieces of sticky tape. Wrap around each finger leaving the section you want to paint.
Paint with first colour then remove tape.

Apply second round of sticky tape when first colour is still wet (when dry it goes flaky and gets pulled off, when sticky tape is pulled off)
Paint with second colour and remove tape.
(Trying to take a photo with my left hand and with wet nails= disaster photography) hehe

And walla!!  enjoy...
