DIY: Hi Res Desktop Collages

I've lately been obsessed with personalising pretty much everything and creating cute backgrounds for my computer and phone. My style is constantly changing and I'm always being inspired from my favourite site Pinterest! You can keep up to date with what I've been pinning here
Here's a recent collage I have made and am using for a desktop background...

To make one for yourself here is a quick little DIY...
First find a heap of inspiring, cute, pretty or dreamy images that you just love. you can find them through tumblr, we heart it, pinterest or where-ever you prefer. Save them all into a folder on your computer.
Next just go to Pic Monkey and choose collage...

Then choose one of the square layouts, you can resize and delete the individual boxes but you cant add them so I tend to pic the 25 square one...

Simply auto fill all of your photos into the box or you can individually choose the order.

You can also adjust the dimensions to fit your computer's screen (or phone screen). Bellow are the dimensions I used for a Macbook Pro 13-Inch.

Resize and play around with the layout, get creative and then save your masterpiece.

I really love this website as it is so quick and simple and most of all easy to use! Hope you all enjoy and remember to follow me on Pinterest :) Have a lovely day!

The Costless Wildflower Bouquet

I was riding down my street on my bike this morning and noticed all of the beautiful wildflowers that I was passing. I gathered up a hole bunch and took them back home to make a miniature wildflower bouquet.

 What you need...

-A small cleaned re-used food Jar
- An assortment of local wildflowers

Notice that I added some pop of colour with the bright yellow buttercups. I also used lots of soft purple and red. Then I chose some delicate whites to lighten the mixture...

Next, I gathered up the flowers in a random assortment...

I usually add a small leaf to finish it off.

Then I popped it in the Jar with a little water, so simple...

And that's it! Totally cost free and such a cute little project for spring :) It's looking so cute in my window nook sitting on a little doily.
Enjoy...

Silver Chevron Nails

Materials:
- scissors
- two colours of nail polish
- sticky tape

Firstly, I painted my first colour. This can be any colour you like but I choose just a shiny clear coat.

Next I cut my tape like the above photo, it's pretty straight forward :)

Once my first coat had dried I carefully placed the two tape pieces in the place I wanted them on my nails.

Then, painted on my silver :)

Remove the tape and your done!!

Current obsession; making a gif...

I recently found a website that allows you to upload your photos and it makes them into a gif. It's called Picasion. This is my latest one, I used pretty images I've found on the inter-web, to sort of make a collage of me :)

Oh... and I used Picnik to make my photos rounded :)
The website I used to find these inspiring images is called We Heart It. It's my favourite site and you can follow me on it here.

Valentines Baking...

This was my valentines day baking for my loved ones. I found a simple brownie recipe here. And then I simply used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out these lovelies.

Sorry I'm a bit late. I haven't able to upload the pictures due to technical problems but you can still use the idea next year... enjoy

mmm.... Lemon Frosting

These cupcakes were so easy to make and the perfect thing to do on a rainy day...

1/2 cup butter at room temperature
1 3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Wash your hands!
Pre-heat oven to 375°F (or 180°C)
Grease a 3x4 muffin tray
Sift dry ingredients in a mixing bowl
Add butter and pinch with fingers until crumbly mixture
Add milk, vanilla and egg to the bowl and beat until smooth and glossy.
Fill muffin tray half way
Bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of a cupcake comes out clean.

Makes 12 cupcakes.

I also found a really simple a lemon frosting recipe.

1 teaspoon fresh lemon rind
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups Icing sugar, sifted
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon water

Add lemon rind to butter; cream well.
Add part of sugar gradually, blending after each addition.

Add lemon juice and water to creamed mixture, alternately with remaining sugar, until of right consistency to spread
Beat until smooth

Note: wait for cupcakes to cool before applying frosting, if warm frosting will melt (And get very messy!)

enjoy...

Geometric Nails!!

I was inspired by the nail art on eva foreva. I thought it would be pretty simple, although I new mine wouldn't turn out as nice as these. I loved the colour scheme of blue and black

These were mine...

What you need...
2 different colours of nail polish
Scissors
Tape

Cut 5, 11/2 inch pieces of sticky tape. Wrap around each finger leaving the section you want to paint.
Paint with first colour then remove tape.

Apply second round of sticky tape when first colour is still wet (when dry it goes flaky and gets pulled off, when sticky tape is pulled off)
Paint with second colour and remove tape.
(Trying to take a photo with my left hand and with wet nails= disaster photography) hehe

And walla!!  enjoy...

Knock please

My baby sister recently asked me to make her a sign for her cubby house saying 'please knock'. I wanted to make something very cute and homely. So I used an emroidery style template from frankie's backgrounds...

Then I added some cute text in picnik, note: I kept with the homely theme.

And thats it! She loves it but we still need to get to a printer to print it out, hehe. Everyone is free to use it but for personal use only! Enjoy...

Tea...

Green tea origami from an etsy shop by ItsDovely
How cute? Tea bags in the shape of little birds. I'd only have a problem throwing them away :(
Very clever how it's done... and you get to make what ever shape tabs you like. The hearts would be perfect for valentines day.. hmm, tea and breakfast in bed :)
